IT OPERATES 365 DAYS A YEAR
The space-saving box automatic warehouse eliminates errors from manually operated turret trucks, automates the storage and retrieval of goods, and reduces errors resulting from manual handling.
Paired with cranes, the automated storage system is a perfect solution for storing boxed goods. Cranes enable efficient use of the full height of the storage area.
Mecalux automated box warehouses are suitable for storing large quantities of mostly uniform-sized boxes. The automatic loading and unloading of boxes are done from one or more external workstations: the goods are forwarded to the stacker crane through a roller conveyor, which then delivers them to the appropriate storage location.
The Mecalux automated box warehouse is a rapidly profitable investment that tracks and monitors inventory, updating it as needed. The system enables increased customer service, as the staff can be reallocated at any time.
The automated box warehouse can be built with single and double-depth box locations. The system can be designed with its own record-keeping software or, if desired, integrated with an existing record-keeping system.
The stacking machine is a proprietary device manufactured by Mecalux S.A. Its function is to store and retrieve boxes within the rack and transport the goods to the transfer point of the conveyor tracks leading to the P&D station.
The P&D station can be located at the end or on the side of the rack. If necessary, multiple workstations like these can be included in the system. These stations are connected to each other and to the stacking machine through a complex roller and belt conveyor system.
The computer control software coordinates the work of the stacker crane, conveyor tracks, and P&D stations while ensuring integration with the warehouse management system (WMS) and the enterprise resource planning system (EDV).
